#CircusEncounters: Meet Circa

New Circus, New Chamäleon

Current Performances

Humans

Award-winning contemporary circus ensemble Circa take us on a stirring journey of what it means to be human and of how our bodies, our connections and our aspirations all form part of who we are. The laws of gravity don’t seem to apply as the acrobats leap into the air, fall with a smile, twist into one another and build intricate sculptures with their bodies.

Humans 2.0

Created by visionary director Yaron Lifschitz with music by composer Ori Lichtik (Sharon Eyal/LEV), lighting by Paul Jackson (Staatsballet Berlin) and eleven of Circa’s finest ensemble members, Humans 2.0 continues pushing the boundaries of what circus and acrobatics can be.

What Will Have Been

A hauntingly beautiful display of interlocking bodies and intricate movements by three virtuosic Circa performers and a violinist on stage. Together they challenge our perception of what is possible within the human body and draw you deep into a world of physical daring.

Circa’s Peepshow

What do we see? What does it mean to be watched? How does being observed change the way we behave? Circa’s performers combine elements of circus, cabaret and burlesque in a beautifully bizarre hall of mirrors. Fascinating, wonderful and unsettling all at once
