Play: An Introduction Part I
We’ve waited so long and now it’s finally happening: From 3 January to 12 February 2023, the guest performance series Play will be taking over the Chamäleon Stage. After two cancellations due to the pandemic, we are finally going to welcome a series of ten different plays in six weeks and with it a wide range of complexity and experimentation of contemporary circus to our stage. In addition to the actual performances, Play offers the necessary space for exchange and encounters. Encounters that connect, give a deeper insight into the processes behind the scenes – and sometimes also into the very personal stories of the artists.
In the future, Play is supposed to become a fixed part of our programme and we are very much looking forward to this exciting new format! As a short introduction, we have asked all the artists of the Play series a few questions about their shows and summarised the answers for you in this video.
In the first part you will hear from:
Anke van Engelshoven, Romy Seibt & Lena Ries from the company still hungry with their piece Raven.
Alfonso Barón & Luciano Rosso from and with Un Poyo Rojo
Nikki Rummer & JD Broussé with their piece Knot
Moritz Haase & JARNOTH from the company Raum 305 with their piece Wir Wollen Nie Nie
Florian Klotz, Oskar Schenck, Sascha Perthel, Soledad Rein-Saunders & Hagen Häsler from Circus Sonnenstich with their piece Karak – Visions.
