Inspired by the era of silent films, Swiss duo Compagnia Baccalà present Pss Pss, an enthralling physical performance blending contemporary clown with theatre and circus
Poetic, acrobatic and infinitely enjoyable: In Pss Pss two modern-day mimes take to the stage, playing out their unique and hilarious pas de deux through the universal language of gestures and looks. Without a single actual word being spoken, these two characters sweep us up in a captivating and award-winning performance with all the seriousness, innocence, and unkindness of being, reminiscent of Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin or Tim Burton. Much drama, much humour and the masterful fusion of acrobatics and modern clowning turn Pss Pss into a beautiful tale full of heart and an hour of happiness not to be missed!
Pss Pss has been performed over 700 times in over 50 countries to huge acclaim, winning 15 international prizes along the way.

Sometimes a show is such a total delight that it is hard to write about it without just gushing ‘See it, see it!’ – Pss Pss is such a show. See it, see it!
Really intense, almost epic embraces, during which the audience can hardly keep themselves on their chairs
This is slapstick reimagined, silent storytelling at its best — delightful, light-hearted
Extraordinary…riveting… infectious… one of the most magical shows on the circuit
A must see. Taking inspiration from Keaton, Fellini and of course Chaplin,
their timeless performance of hilarious mishaps and outstanding acrobatics is utterly charming
FringeReview Outstanding Show
One of the best clown pieces I’ve ever seen… this is a master-class in a form… unique… outstanding
About the Company
Camilla (CH) and Simone (IT) met at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri in Switzerland. After graduation they took separate paths both performing in many different circuses and cabarets in far away countries, without seeing each other for years. Then one day in 2004 Simone, on tour with a circus, contacted his old class-mate Camilla to stand-in for his usual acrobatic partner. Together they deepened the characteristics and techniques of their clown characters, creating the repertoire with which they struck out and continue to travel the world, this time together.
In 2008 Italian Valerio Fassari, theatre artist, musician and friend, joined the company during its participation in major international circus festivals in Moscow, China and Paris, and has stayed ever since. In 2010 Belgian director Louis Spagna completed the Company’s first full-length work Pss Pss, a circus work gleefully received all over the world.
