Coming Up NEXT
Falling numbers of infections, gradual openings in many areas of public life – we are incredibly happy and relieved to see these hopeful developments now, after more than a year. Of course, we are particularly pleased about the return to theatres and events. Not only because we as a venue are directly affected by it, but also because we have missed shared theatre and cultural experiences as audience members.
What do these developments mean for Chamäleon? Since we nevertheless require considerable lead time for preparation and implementation of a season under pandemic conditions, we will not be able to reopen our theatre until late summer. The uncertainty of planning in recent months has left us with little room for short-term concepts for opening. We are putting all our energy into the coming fall season and are moving towards reopening at full speed.
Unfortunately, this also means that we will not be able to present the piece in_between from April to July as planned this year. But in this case, postponed does not mean cancelled. in_between is a wonderful piece, the development of which we have followed for many months and which is very dear to us. We will definitely continue to follow this project on our social media channels as it grows and evolves, until it can finally be presented here in the future.
And what will Chamäleon have to offer? We’re super excited to be partnering once again with our Australian friends from Circa Contemporary Circus, who will be presenting no less than four different pieces with us over the course of four months. In addition, we will welcome the company still hungry with their piece Raven, a joint co-production created in 2019. Advance sales will start in July and we can hardly put into words how much we are looking forward to this moment.
So, true to our name, a very diverse season awaits us, which we hope will quickly compensate for the lack of circus performances in recent months.
Here’s to a long-awaited reunion soon!
