Hendrik Frobel has been managing director of Chamäleon Berlin gGmbH (formerly Chamäleon Theater GmbH) since 2011 and, alongside artistic director Anke Politz, has played a key role in driving forward the restructuring of the company and its subsequent non-profit status. Maintaining social justice in the company, considering equality as a matter of course and ensuring a family-friendly working environment are important concerns for him. Hendrik Frobel also places a special focus on the sustainable management of finances, funding measures and controlling, and is committed to consistent and strategic partnerships and collaborations, as well as to networking among cultural professionals and impulse-givers. The mission at the centre: to increase the recognition of contemporary circus both nationally and internationally. Hendrik Frobel is actively involved in INTOURA Berlin e.V., the industry association of Berlin’s tourism service providers, of which he was the first chairman for several years. He is also an active member of the “Creative Industries” committee at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce as well as DIE MITTE e.V., Wirtschaftskreis Mitte, DEHOGA and the German Stage Association.
