4. Google Cookies
For the purpose of the needs-based design and ongoing optimisation of our website, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter ‘Google’). In this connection, pseudonymous usage profiles are created and cookies (see para. 3) used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website, such as browser type/version; operating system used; referrer URL (the page visited beforehand); host name of the accessing computer (IP address); time of server request, is transferred to a server in the USA and stored there. This information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to perform other services associated with the use of the website and the Internet for the purposes of market research and the needs-based design of these websites. This information may also be made accessible to third parties, where this is legally required, or where third parties are commissioned to process this data on Google’s behalf.
In no event is the IP address combined with other data relating to the user. The IP addresses are anonymised so that it is not possible to allocate them (IP masking).
The user can prevent the installation of cookies by setting their browser software accordingly (see para. 3). However, we would like to point out that it may not be possible to use all functions of this website in this case.
As a Google AdWords customer, we also use Google Conversion Tracking, an analysis service from Google Inc. Google AdWords saves a cookie on your computer (‘conversion cookie’) if you reach our website from a Google advertisement. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the cookie has not yet expired when our website is visited, we and Google can identify that someone has clicked on the advertisement and was then transferred to our website. Every AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies can thus not be tracked using the websites of AdWords customers. The information gathered using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have chosen conversion tracking. The AdWords customers find out the total number of users who have clicked on their advertisement and were transferred to a page fitted with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that enables users to be identified personally. If you do not wish to take part in the tracking procedure, you can also refuse the saving of a cookie that is required for this – such as setting your browser so that the automatic saving of cookies is generally deactivated. You can also deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser in such a way that cookies are blocked by the domain ‘googleadservices.com’. Google’s data protection statement for conversion tracking can be found here.
If you visit our site using a mobile device (e.g. smartphone or tablet), you can reject the use of Google Analytics for the future using this link. By activating the link, we save a cookie in your browser which tells us to disable the use of Google Analytics for your device. Please note that you must perform the rejection once again if you remove the cookies in your browser.
We also use the remarketing technology from Google. Using this technology, users who have already visited our website and are interesting in our offerings are once again addressed by targeted advertising on the pages of the Google partner network. Advertising is displayed using cookies. With the aid of cookies, user behaviour can be analysed and then used for targeted product recommendations and interest-based advertising. The information about your use of this website (including your IP address) collected via the cookie is transferred to a server belonging to Google in the USA and stored there. The IP address is then shortened by Google to the last three digits, so it is no longer possible to make a clear allocation of the IP address. Google observes the data protection regulations of the US Safe Harbor agreement and is registered with the Safe Harbor programme from the US Department of Commerce. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on the website activities for the website operator and to perform other services associated with the use of the website and the Internet. Google may also make this information accessible to third parties, where this is legally required, or where Google commissions third parties to process this data on its behalf. Third-party providers, including Google, activate advertisements on websites on the Internet. Third-party providers, including Google, use saved cookies to activate the displaying based on prior visits of a user to this website. Google will under no circumstances connect your IP address with other data of Google.
The user can object to the creation of usage profiles at any time. The contact details stated under para. 7 can be used to notify of the objection. Alternatively, please follow the instructions at: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB.
