How to get here
The Chamäleon is located in the first courtyard of the Hackesche Höfe in Berlin-Mitte, right next to Hackescher Markt. We recommend travelling by public transport (S-Bahn, U-Bahn, bus, tram) or by bike. Car parking is very limited in the immediate vicinity. Bicycle racks are located in the second courtyard.
Public transport
Hackescher Markt S-Bahn station: Lines S 3, 5, 7, 9, 75
Weinmeisterstraße underground station: Line U 8
Bus: Route 348 and night buses
MetroTram: M1, M4, M5, M6
Current restrictions in front of the Hackesche Höfe due to tram track construction:
From August 1 through September 14, 2026 (as currently expected), Rosenthaler Straße between Hackescher Markt and Neue Schönhauser Straße will be completely closed to cars. The taxi stand has been temporarily relocated to Dircksenstraße. The nearest location for getting in and out of private cars is at Spandauer Brücke 1. Unfortunately, the regular parking lot within the Hackesche Höfe which is accessible to wheelchair users, will not be available during this period.

There is a parking space suitable for people using wheelchairs in the first courtyard of the Hackesche Höfe; however, we are unfortunately unable to guarantee availability. Due to the construction work in front of the Hackesche Höfe (see above), the parking space in the first coutyard is currently unavailable.
Step-free access
For reasons of heritage protection, our theatre is unfortunately not fully accessible; however, step-free access is possible. Please note that step-free access leads though our office areas, and therefore can only be used when accompanied by a member of our service team.
