Holzmarkt 25

This well-known insider tip can be found in Friedrichshain, right on the Spree, an urban creative village with flats and studios, restaurant and event spaces, club, and day-care centre. Drop by the Spreelunke for a beer, the Katerschmaus for fantastic food and there’s a big playground for the kids. But that’s not all, if you’re looking for an unusual workplace, you’ll find a coworking space with a view of the Spree at Holzmarkt 25. In addition, a changing evening programme awaits you in the “Säalchen”, including concerts, poetry slams, and performances.

Silent Green

A creative oasis in Wedding’s former crematorium, where different artistic disciplines can interact and create something new. A unique cultural campus has developed on the listed grounds, here you can visit exhibitions, concerts, or readings by independent art projects and afterward relax and linger over lunch, cake, or drinks at MARS.

The Monster Cabinet

 

If you are a fan of fantasy and surrealism, or just want to try something unusual, then the Monsterkabinett in Berlin Mitte is the place for you. Here you’ll find yourself in an abandoned amusement park that has taken on a life of its own. Dancing, singing, and poetry-writing automaton creatures accompany you through your visit and tell you about the journey inside.

Hourly shows take place on Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, and Friday and Saturday from 4:30pm to 9:30pm, but it’s worth checking the website beforehand. Children over 6 are also welcome, accompanied by an adult.

Chamäleon Berlin

How could an extraordinary day in Berlin end better than with a visit to Chamäleon? Right next door to the listed Hackesche Höfe you will find the stage for contemporary circus. Here you can experience innovative productions of the international circus scene between acrobatics, movement, dance, and theatre.
