“Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.” – Khalil Gibran

After two triumphant, sell out seasons at Berlin Circus Festival, we are delighted to bring the Italian circus collective Fabbrica C onto the Chamäleon stage with a very special new, expanded version of their hit, BELLO!

Connecting storytelling with flowing, acrobatic choreographies, BELLO! brings together six acrobats and one fish out of water actor in a poetic and sometimes raucous examination of not just how we find the beauty within us but how we let it out.

Created by director Francesco Sgrò and an international ensemble of acrobats BELLO! unfolds as a series of short stories, uncovering the subtleties, frustrations and wonder of seemingly mundane, everyday interactions. Intricate, almost meditative acrobatics transform into satires of brash fashion parades and joyful ballets before reconnecting to the simplicities of touch, connection and physical collaboration.

BELLO! exists in a world and style all of its own, combining traditional group acrobatic approaches like banquine, hand to hand and tumbling with contemporary movement methodologies like contact improvisation and physical theatre. The result is the creation of an onstage world that welcomes the audience with open arms and gathers us together to ask, what do we owe each other?

A show about the power of wonder made by artists searching for new paths, shapes and forms.
