Poetic, surreal, ironic, acrobatic and infinitely enjoyable: In „Pss Pss“ two modern-day mimes take to the stage, playing out their unique and hilarious pas de deux through the universal language of gestures and looks. Without a single actual word being spoken, these two characters sweep us up in a captivating and award-winning performance with all the seriousness, innocence, and unkindness of being, reminiscent of Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin or Tim Burton. Much drama, much humour and the masterful fusion of acrobatics and modern clowning turn “Pss Pss” into a timeless performance that casually reimagines the modern clown character.

The company

Compagnia Baccalà was born from the union of Simone Fassari (him) and Camilla Pessi (her), who met during their studies at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri, where they eventually formed the duo Baccalà Clown. Today, they travel the world together as Compagnia Baccalà. In 2010 they created their show „Pss Pss“ together with director Louis Spagna, which by now has been performed over 600 times in over 50 countries, winning 13 international prizes along the way. Among them, the Cirque du Soleil Prize of the Festival du Cirque du Demain in 2009; the Fringe Review Winner of Outstanding Show in 2014 and the Swiss Theatre Award in 2016.

The Director
Louis Spagna lives in Belgium and is a theatre director, musician, accordion builder, teacher, actor and clown. He has a degree in Roman philology and was part of Cirque du Soleil’s first ever tour in 1984. He started his career as a writer and director in 1995 and has created many contemporary circus shows for a variety of international companies. Simplicity and good taste have always been at the heart of his works.
